In India, a government job is the most desired one as compared to any other private job. SSC job is one of those jobs. Staff Selection Commission is an organization run by the government of India and it organizes graduate level exam for selection in various government offices of central government and in their subordinate offices as well. The popularity of this exam can be figured out from the fact that almost twenty lakh people attempt this exam every year. Now here we will tell you why this exam is so much popular among the people. It not only offers the job opportunity to matriculate level candidates but also entitles jobs to Graduate level and higher educational background candidates with suitable opportunities.
Secure job: As compared to various private sector jobs where hire and fire culture prevails. A Central government job is considered a stable one. The main reason behind this is that public sector jobs are unaffected by the demand and supply theories prevalent in the market.
Salary increments: There is an increase in a salary every time pay commission decides that. These jobs are employee friendly at least till now they have been, when it comes to salary increments.
Promotions on a timely basis: One of the most important features of a central government job is that it always pays heed to the seniority of a person i.e. how much time he has spent for a particular job and promotions are awarded for the same according to the level of experience one has gained. SSC also conducts exam for existing staff for ensuring better promotion opportunities.
Not too much pressure: If we look at the jobs in private sector they are very demanding and often ask for too much hard work doing which can be very difficult for a normal human being, whereas a government sector job offers a very good work-life balance. You are required to work for almost 5-7 hours and not more than that.
This exam is conducted in three levels. One is objective MCQ, other is Descriptive paper and the third one is Skill Test/ Computer Proficiency test wherever applicable. Its syllabus consists of:
A. General Intelligence and Reasoning (25 Questions) - 50 marks
B. Gen.Awareness (25 Questions) -50 marks
C. Quantitative Aptitude (25 Questions) – 50 marks
D. English Comprehensive (25 Questions) - 50 marks
Note: - Total Maximum marks of the exam is 200 and duration of 75 Minutes.
